Geographically Distributed Teams, Launching in AALTO-Helsinki

August 2016 – During the second week of August, I visited with 4 of my Chilean students, AALTO University in Helsinki, Finland. The idea was to launch the project that we have with Profs. David Leal (Electrical Engineering) in conjunction with the Aaltonaut Team (Thomas, Maurice and Elina) a joint course with geographically distributed teams of students. I taught a crash course to the 3 students from Finland. They will be working during a whole semester in mixed international teams. In October, we expect the Finnish to come to Chile. They professor (Maurice) will teach a workshop and the students will have time to evolve their prototypes in situ. This experience adds on what I did with University of Notre Dame on 2014-5 and it is financed by Engineering 2030 fund.
